The cause of that correlation isn't, at the end of the day, important. What's important is that you treat your trans (or queer) young people who are also autistic with dignity and respect and that you take their gender identity (and sexual orientation) seriously. Denying that autistic young people can also be TGNC is one of the ways adults undermine youth identity.
