First and most importantly, fully embrace and celebrate your queer or trans child/mentee.

  • No matter the sexual orientation and gender identity of your young person:
    • Teach them (and be sure you believe yourself) that being queer or trans is a perfectly normal part of the human experience and has been so for as long as there have been people.
    • Teach them (and be sure you believe yourself) that bisexuality isn't inherently a phase; it can be a stable, life-long identity.
    • Teach them (and be sure you believe yourself) that being asexual or aromantic is both legit and fantastic.
