"Being gay and trans is extremely difficult because it can cause a lot of internal conflicts and severe dysphoria. Being attracted to other men and being gay is seen stereotypically as 'feminine' which can cause me dysphoria as a trans man struggling with trying to disassociate from 'femininity.' It also has caused people, including some in the LGBTQA+ community themselves, to invalidate one or the other. Some feel I am just a 'lesbian' and not really a man."
"Even if someone is openly queer, they may very well be also trans/questioning their gender identity in secret. Candor about sexual orientation does not necessitate the further candor about gender identity, particularly if we feel our sexual orientation is already a strain on some relationships."
"I don't really think about my sexuality as much of anything tbh. my queer identity is mostly me being trans, although yes my sexuality is fluid. I don Gender expressiont really care abt it that much. being trans has much much more impact on my life than being queer."
