Adults overall
We know and understand ourselves and the world better than you think we do.
I know myself better than you could ever know me.
You don't automatically know better because you're an adult.
Adults don't know how we feel or who we are. You can't read our minds.
You can't understand our struggles or culture.
Just because we're younger doesn't mean our experiences, feelings, and opinions aren't as valid as yours.
I know what's best for me. Part of that is transitioning from female to male.
You need to respect our points of view, even if you don't share them.
You should respect and treat us just like you do queer and trans adults.
"Even if I am younger than adults are, I have spent time figuring out who I am and what my beliefs are."
"I know what I'm talking about and I'm not just a 'dumb young kid who doesn't know anything.'"
"ive been told many times when i was growing up that i was too young to know, that i was faking, or that i was delusional or crazy."
Parents
"My parents try to be supportive, I only wish that they would stop saying that I'm too young to know who I am or try to find out who I am."
