Look for books that cover some of these important topics

For everything included in the pages linked in the "flippy-cards" below, talk to your young queer or trans person. What this looks like will depend on your relationship with them, your role in their life, and the topic.

All of these subjects are ones that can use way more open, honest conversation than usually happens in the US.

But make sure that you don't set it up as a topic on which you have all the knowledge that you're passing on to them; teaching goes both directions.

• Find out what your young person thinks.
• What do they know about the issue?
• How do they feel about it?
• What do they hear from their parents, teachers, friends, and peers?
• Do they have any personal experience? Do their friends?
• What are the most important things they think you need to know?
