There are so many resources for mental healthcare professionals out there; i don't have the capacity to offer things for everyone. And this is a good problem to have!
So i'll focus here on those who provide "talk therapy." For ease of writing and reading, i'm using "therapist" to encompass therapists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, even though their jobs are all distinct.
All of you, no matter your specialty, will find useful information linked to the "flippy cards" at the bottom of this page.
Psychiatrists, you'll find some helpful information in this overall section and possibly some in the section for primary care providers. You'll find information specific to your field in the four sources immediately below:
- Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Transgender Youth
- Affirming Evidence-Based Care for Young Patients Who Are Transgender or Gender Diverse
- For Transgender Youth, Psychiatrists' Work Must Extend Beyond Clinic Walls
- Gender-Affirming Therapy (psychiatry.org)
Life coaches, of course, are not the same as therapists. But the ways they work with their clients and the goals of those clients may make parts of this section very relevant.
Like anyone visiting R2T2, i'd encourage you to take what's useful and leave the rest.
